I committed myself to give a workshop WordPress at work. Although it frightens me a bit, I am very proud of it. Because it is something beyond my comfort zone.
So on April 8th, 2013, I was working hard on a presentation. What about WordPress? What about the history of the log, weblog, blog? What about the several programming languages? What can I use, and what not? Is my audience familiar with writing for web?
The workshop were going very fine. The presentation was perfect, I think, not too much text, not too little either. All in all I have a good feeling about it. The first session, I did alone. It was very structured, very basic (based on the knowledge level of the visitors). The second and third session were a bit more chaotic, due to a co-teacher. This doesn’t mean it went bad, it was just a bit chaotic.
Because not everyone was able to make a WordPress website on that day, I also created a simple ebook for them and I uploaded it to our company network on Yammer, together with my presentation. I hope there are some people who can actually use it.
However the day went, I still am very proud that I did it. Out of my normal line of work, out of my comfort zone but definitely in my area of interest.
